Feeling a little bashful, yet rather excited to share press coverage of the Cobham project in the October EKBB Magazine.
I introduced Sola Kitchens to my client for their new classic contemporary style kitchen. Working with the overall design scheme for the home, I helped my client chose the product, materials, colour and finishing touches, and consulted on the layout to make it the best use of space, but ultimately a sociable kitchen, for everyone to enjoy.
My client loves to entertain and cook, and is enjoying her new kitchen and her new open plan living space.
In an open plan space, the role and layout of the kitchen is so important. You need to consider how each part of the open plan connects with the next, and how you would like to entertain and live in the space. This then guides where the key focal/practical points of kitchen such as the hob, Fridge/Freezer are located. And storage is so important. For clutter free, it's about considering clever hide away and accessibility together.
A good kitchen design should be intuitive, and easy to use, and not prohibit or frustrate you. I always ask my clients to role play any proposed kitchen layout, to stress test that it works for them.
